Hi, I’m Sarah, Founder of Capsule Wardrobe Styling
I always knew I wanted to work in fashion from a young age. I was captivated by my grandma’s always-perfectly manicured red nails (but really, how?) and her curated black and white wardrobe. She had the ability to express her polished style even in her later years. Growing up, I never missed a chance to give styling advice to family and friends, and filled my time reading the latest editions of every fashion magazine I could get my hands on.
My Background
I attended Columbia College Chicago and studied the Fashion B.A. program, where I learned all of the important business aspects of working in the fashion industry. (This was after several years in nursing school realizing it just wasn’t my cup of tea, oops). I worked as a Senior Copywriter at a luxury resale company (eDrop-off), the first of it’s kind which offered closet clean-outs, styling and resale of designer pieces online. The era of fashion blogging was at it’s peak, and I spent my free time shooting photos and creating content. After getting married and welcoming our two daughters, I focused on being a mom while creating content and giving styling advice on social media. After moving to Austin, TX in 2022, I worked as a Personal Stylist at Nordstrom where I honed my skills styling all different ages, body types, and style preferences. Several of my clients requested I come to their house to help with their closets, and eventually I felt limited in what I was able to offer clients in terms of services and product. I decided to take the jump and here we are! Capsule Wardrobe Styling was born.
Today
Since starting Capsule Wardrobe Styling in 2024, it’s been an absolute joy to help women from all walks of life create wardrobes that feel like an authentic extension of who they are. I’ve had the privilege of transforming countless closets and guiding my clients toward styles that reflect not just how they want to look, but how they want to feel every day.
In May of 2025 I had the amazing opportunity of being a Stylist at Austin Fashion Week for an incredible designer, Liieve. I am truly grateful everyday for the amazing clients and community I continue to build doing what I love.
My own personal style: I believe fashion should never lose that “fun” element and love to try new things. But over the years I have collected what I consider to be the foundation of my wardrobe, versatile pieces that I wear regularly like blazers, great denim and the perfect white tee. I like to incorporate edgy accessories and timeless french inspiration when putting a look together.
If you’re ready to simplify your wardrobe and elevate your personal style, I’d love to hear from you! xx
